Trend map (in Finnish)

What does the future of the industry look like? What direction is it heading – and how should we prepare? 

This Trend Map (for now only available in Finnish) is part of the foresight work conducted by the Finnish Association of Vision and Eyecare. Foresight is a process aimed at identifying and analysing future trends, opportunities, and risks. 

With the help of the trend map, companies in the optical industry can, among other things, anticipate potential future development paths, refine their strategies, improve their competitiveness, manage risks, and operate in a more customer-centric manner. The trend map is maintained by the members of Näe ry. 

How to read the trend map:

We recommend maximising the trend map to full screen. Click on a phenomenon or trend to view a more detailed definition of each theme. You can zoom in on the trend map by scrolling with your mouse over the map. 

You can also adjust the text size of the trend map’s headings using the A+ / A− buttons at the top of the visualisation to make the content easier to read on different screens. 

By clicking on the header for a sector or horizon, you can filter the view to show only that specific area. This allows you to examine the content in more detail. Click the header again to return to the normal view. 

The full trend map is available only to Näe ry member companies and can also be made available to media representatives.

The trend map was created using the FIBRES foresight platform, which supports systematic future-oriented work and co-development.

The goal of this foresight work is to provide insightful and practical information that helps industry stakeholders prepare in time and take advantage of opportunities.

Foresight work is a joint, future-oriented effort by the entire industry. The goal is not to be right, but to broaden our thinking and highlight various trends. With a strong focus on the future, we can ensure that the industry doesn’t just follow developments – it stays ahead of them.
