Together towards the best vision care in the world
The Finnish Association of Vision and Eyecare represents optometrists, ophthalmologists and ophthalmic laboratories, manufacturers, importers, wholesalers, and personal and educational organisations serving the industry. Our aim is to ensure that quality vision products and eye care services are available to all Finns in an equitable and cost-effective manner.
Näe ry’s key advocacy goals
The purpose of Näe ry’s advocacy work is to make Finland’s eye care the best in the world in terms of quality, accessibility, and cost-effectiveness.
Our key goals are:
1) integrating eye care into primary health care in accordance with WHO guidelines,
2) reducing waiting lists by expanding optometrists’ rights to the EU level,
3) reforming the healthcare market and pharmaceutical distribution to improve the availability of medicines and services.

Optical Retail in Finland
The latest data on key figures and forecasts for the optical retail sector. The figures are compiled in real time from various statistical sources. The ETU-bot of the Federation of Finnish Special Commodity Trade (Etu ry) updates the data, analyzes it, generates text, and automatically produces the latest forecast whenever the data is updated. The time series forecast is compiled from the unseasonally adjusted historical turnover data and is used to calculate the forecast for the change in turnover for the remainder of the year and the turnover trend for the next six months.
